Bob's Brick at Norwich City Football Club

Created by Trevor & Maureen 9 years ago
Bob Page loved his football and was a keen follower of Norwich City F.C. When he was fitter, and match tickets were more readily available, I would often pick him up and we would spend an enjoyable afternoon at Carrow Road watching The Canaries. Even during his later life he still loved listening to Norwich matches on Radio Norfolk and would have strong opinions on how each game had gone. Maureen and I thought that it would be a lovely tribute to the man, Dad, to get an engraved brick placed in the Carrow Road Stadium as a permanent memorial. So in May 2014, on behalf of all Bob's family, we got touch with the club and this was arranged under their "On The Wall City" scheme. In August 2014 the club contacted us to say that the brick had been mounted on the outside wall of the Aviva Community Stand, which to those of you who know Carrow Road is between The Norwich and Peterborough Stand and The Jarrold Stand. The brick is very simple and says "Bob Page 1925 to 2014" in gold lettering. But that is all it needs to say. It doesn't need a detailed explanation of Bob Page as we all know what a great man he was. Maureen and I hope that everyone who sees this brick will take a few moments to reflect on Bob Page's life. He will never be forgotten and we are sure that he would have loved this tribute. R.I.P
